Bangladesh Agro Processors’ Association (BAPA)

Bangladesh is a thickly populated agro based country gifted with favorable conditions yet. Hard working people combined with modern knowledge have contributed admirably to make it solvent in our staple food. Necessity is the mother of invention. Gen Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd), CEO of PRAN-RFL group utilized his vision to use the increased agricultural products as raw materials for production of new, attractive and diversified products through processing. Result is today’s potential agro processing sector with wide scope for value addition and greater return. Gen Chowdhury founded Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) with deep vision to explore, organize in all possible ways to make it an instrument to harness all the latent potentials in the agro processing sector with few members at start. He became the founder President and provided due guidance and dynamism. The association was incorporated under the Companies Act (Act xviii) of 1994 on the 1st day of March 1998 under Registrar of Joint Stock Companies. Then it started blooming and gained no. one position of the Thrust Sectors, based on the multiplicity of the benefits for the people and the nation. Govt realizing the importance started providing cash and other benefits which is still continued.
